FAQ
Welcome! You probably have some questions that we’re glad to answer!
Can I return scarves that don’t match, or weren’t the colour I expected?
Yes, for sure! It can be hard to judge true colour on screen. We’ll give you a full refund on the purchase price of the scarf, when it arrives back to our warehouse. No questions asked.
Why is silk more expensive than other fabrics?
That’s a good question. Silk is a natural fibre produced by silkworms. It is known for its softness, durability, and smooth sheen. It’s breathable, hypoallergenic, and feels luxurious against the skin. The production process is time-intensive and eco-friendly, contributing to its higher price.
Is silk nice to wear?
Yes, unlike synthetic scarves, silk doesn’t trap heat or irritate sensitive skin. It can be worn in summer or winter.
Do silk scarves last a long time?
Yes definitely! If they are looked after carefully, they can last 10 years or more! Many of our customers still treasure scarves that they purchased 15 years ago. They are a staple of timeless fashion and can be worn year after year. Our scarves aren’t just accessories — they’re wearable art – an investment.
Is silk sustainable?
Yes, silk is biodegradable, unlike polyester or nylon. Investing in fewer, better pieces — like a silk scarf — supports sustainable fashion choices and reduces your environmental footprint. Buying one high-quality scarf might outlast a drawer full of fast-fashion alternatives.
What is the difference between twill silk and satin silk?
We have always used twill silk. The difference comes down to the weave of the fabric, which affects look, feel, and durability. Twill has a diagonal ribbed weave (you can see fine diagonal lines if you look closely). It is elegant but less shiny than satin and is stronger and less prone to snagging. It holds its shape well - good for tying around the neck, head, or bag without slipping.
How do you wear a silk scarf?
One silk scarf has dozens of uses!
Tie it around your neck for classic elegance.
Use it as a headband or turban.
Knot it on your handbag for a pop of colour.
Style it as a top in warmer weather.
